This post is my triumphant return first to getting another blog post up (though the hiatus was not that long) and more importantly for the triumphant return of #kde-www. So listen closely yee wayfarer of the interwebs for this journey will be long an perilous (not really).
So, first things first. Dot.kde.org is coming along. Design is more or less finished and pretty much built. Coding is mostly done. Porting stories and comments remains. At this point in time it's more or less a two person project and life is taking it's toll. But it's pretty close and will be pretty cool.
Moving on, the #kde-www IRC channel has been successfully resurrected. So far I suppose I will consider this to be my largest contribution to KDE with perhaps a small exception of giving a sweet presentation with a staggering hangover. It's been populated by all manner of people and it turns out that many people are interested in seeing KDE have an awesome web presence. There are people already helping this grow (special thanks to Socceroos and Melchiorre). This is going a lot of places. Which in turn means...
There will be a new KDE.org. This will take a long time, it will take a lot of work, but through hell and high water it will happen. Some day there will not be old and out-dated information. Some day it will be easy to edit. The initial planning is already happening.
There will be open collaboration services. And with things like JOLIE we may be taking open source collaboration to a whole new level. Things are coming along. There is a lot of initial hashing out, but ideas are forming.
There may be a physical meeting regarding KDE websites. I personally would find this very cool, and I think it would go a long way to getting things to where they should be. It would be great to meet everyone interested in KDE websites.
Are you interested in KDE's web presence? Are you interested in integrating the KDE desktop or a KDE application with web services? Then please come join us in #kde-www on irc.freenode.net or subscribe to the kde-www mailing list. Or start contributing by helping us map the current state of KDE websites. There are many interesting projects that I'm sure would interest many of you and also many cool people already forming what will be the future of KDE on the web. So come join us! Can't wait to see you!

great
Good job. KDE's web presence had been in "maintenance mode" since about forever. Time to have some feature releases. :)
Woot!
Good stuff Kyle, thanks for the plug.
I'm getting really excited by this. Its going to be a lot of work, but the benefits we can come out with when we're finished are amazing. I'm really looking forward to breaking down the walls that hamper easy collaboration through the use of open collaboration services and integration with the desktop.
Kind regards,
Socceroos
