So I received the XML files for all the articles on the dot and there are some interesting things in there. Mostly having embedded files (which had been stored in the database). To say the least this is making things interesting. Also, I've found the PHP's SimpleXml handles CDATA sections at least somewhat poorly, I'm not sure it was ever quite meant to do this task. In any case, in the next couple of days I will hopefully get a working import script so I can import most of the data into Drupal. I imagine the a custom content type may be needed for a couple of things but that remains to be seen. If the articles can at least be transferred over to Drupal things will be pretty good. For now, there will be no pictures, but that will probably be solved in the future.
